“SAML-In-A-Box” Instant Portal – SecureAuth 6.2 Delivers

Written on November 20, 2011 at 7:55 am, by Garret

The industry is always right – that’s a firm believe at SecureAuth.

The latest cognitive assertion by the IT industry that SecureAuth has validated – is the believe that IT equipment should be designed to more easily and efficiently deliver SaaS portals for enterprise users to consume.  SecureAuth delivers again.  (See Image #1)

It’s important to note – these portals are accessible to users utilizes both traditional computers and mobile devices, including Apple iOS and Android Tablets.

Image #1: SecureAuth allows an enterprise to create an “instant-SaaS” (and local web apps portal) – with configurable authentication in addition to the web SSO.

SecureAuth has delivered in SecureAuth 6.2 – a “SAML-In-a-Box” portal – that makes serving up SAML-based SaaS resources (Google, Salesforce, ADP, SuccessFactors, Postini, etc) a trivial matter of clicking on a button link the SecureAuth admin console to select which sites to enable for SecureAuth’s instant SAML-portal:

Image #2 – The SecureAuth console allows enterprise admin to just select any of the SecureAuth authentication realms to be “published” to the SecureAuth portal – including the SAML (SaaS) apps.

The key to the SecureAuth solution is it’s revolutionary “Everything in the box” design which includes all the elements needed to create a SAML IdP and/or SP-initiated dialogue with a cloud provider, these include:

  • Data Connectors to your existing Datastore (AD, v3 LDAp, SQL, etc)
  • Web Server built into appliance to become SAML IdP (Identity Provider)
  • Configurable Authentication
    • Single Factor  (ID/Password)
    • Configurable Multi-Factor (X.509, SMS, Telephony, E-mail, KBA, etc)
  • SAML (XML) response and creation logic
  • X.509v3 signing cert for signing the SAML assertion
  • Federation ID logic, to send the proper ID to the correct SaaS provider

These are the items that the enterprise MUST build by-themselves or cobble together with various products.    (Remember – buying a library that just does the SAML dialogue with the Service Provider – is just a small part of the job – please see image #3).

Image #3 –  SecureAuth pre-builds all the necessary components for an enterprise to construct a SaaS portal – so enterprises don’t have to.

The key the premise of the SecureAuth solution – is that it has all the facilities for an enterprise all assembled in one simple appliance  (usually virtual, since SecurAuth SecureAuth support VMWare ESX, vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V and even Amazon EC2).  The install is simply a  matter of dropping in the solution – into your enterprise, connecting to your enterprise directory and then configuring your SaaS resource to accept SAML from your SecureAuth authentication appliance.  (See image #4)

Image #4: SecureAuth is the “Instant-SaaS-Portal” for enterprises to direct users (both internal and external) for authentication and SSO into SaaS apps.

SecureAuth listens again – and delivers.
